Tutor Biographies

Ronnie Bryan, PhD

Ronnie hails from Knoxville, Tennessee, where he started teaching at an early age. He's been explaining math and science since his younger brothers were old enough to understand (and maybe a bit before that). With hard work and a little luck, he was admitted to MIT where he studied Brain and Cognitive Science. He got his first job out of college at Princeton to pursue human brain imaging. In 2012, he received a Phd in Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech for his work on the role of 3D vision in social cognition.

Now, Ronnie continues his work in education from several different angles. He is the Math Department Head at Sequoyah Highschool in Pasadena and he is am Adjunct Professor of Human Biology at LA Trade Tech. Although these roles limit the amount of tutoring he is available for, he stays involved in H-bar through the Math Circle program and by interviewing candidate tutors.

H-bar Tutoring's mission to spread interest and awareness of math and science speak directly to what inspires him the most.

Currently, Ronnie is hard at work on a math book that will draw from his years of experience to present the core material in a new way. Stay tuned for details!
